This house has a private swimming pool and is surrounded by forests in the peaceful hamlet of Valmigère in the Corbières mountains.
From the top of the Valmigère hill the view over the Pyrenees is breathtaking. The original fountain of the hamlet is worth a look.
The house is about 15 minutes from the town and 50kms from the fortified city of Carcassonne and airport.
There is little to hear apart from birds, cow bells and the chiming of the church clock. Situated high in the hills, the house enjoys comfortable temperatures even in the height of summer. A variety of beautiful circular walking paths with panoramic views over the Pyrenees start from the house doorsteps.
The garden has lawns and an area of mixed trees. A grassy ride winds through the trees past a chalet style summer house, it is great for children.
The house has a cool airy living area with antiques, leather sofas and chairs, and a wood burning fireplace. Above the dining table is an attractive mezzanine area with sofa bed, easy chairs and books.
There are 5 bedrooms plus a mezzanine, sleeping a total of 12. All bedrooms have en suite facilities and there is one futher WC/shower.
The kitchen is light, airy and comprehensively equipped, it has an adjoining laundry/utility room.
The shaded terraces with tables and chairs and the barbecue are ideal to appreciate meals alfresco.
