Extras: Pets - unfortunately we are unable to accept Pets as we have our own on the property. Optional: Duvet covers and duvet, hand and bath towels, at 5 € per person per week (or part thereof).
Remember to bring your own towels for the swimming pool and beach.
In July & August a "taxe de sejour" of € 0.30 per person per night is payable.
End of stay cleaning charge € 60 - Charged only if apartment not left in a clean and tidy state.

Welcome to "Les Libellules" the self catering Apartment named for the Dragonflies that can be seen flying over the river right next to our garden.
Situated between Carcassonne and Toulouse (near Carcassonne but not under the flight path) we have the luxury of being close to the airport whilst still being tranquil and quiet.
The village of Montolieu (the name comes from the Occitan Ouliou Mont - Mount of Olives) is situated in the foothills of the Black Mountain - that's about 16 Km from the city of Carcassonne, with its wonderfully preserved medieval castle.
Montolieu is known the world over as "Le Village de Livre" (The Village of Books) and has been a center for book selling and binding since 1989. There are many shops selling books both ancient and modern and a museum that specializes in the history of everything to do with books.
The village resides on an outcropping of rock high above two rivers, the "Alzeau" and the "Dur".
They join just above our house by a small waterfall easily visible from our rear balcony and continue on as "The Rougeanne" which runs directly by our garden.
The decking in the lower garden has facilities to Barbecue french style with the river providing the best possible water feature.
It's a wonderful place to spend quality time just relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet of the Languedoc as we have very little traffic passing by the house. It's situated in a small road (Chemin) leading to a farm about 1 km distant.
The swimming pool is available from May to September and during that time does not require heating and can reach 29 ° C. After a day sightseeing it's great to just cool down.
Although this is a self catering holiday there are plenty of excellent restaurants nearby.
In Montolieu, within easy walking distance, there are 2 restaurants, a cafe, the usual grocery store (Chez Nelly) and a Bakers. We also have a Chemist and Medical practice should you need it.
The major supermarkets and shops of Carcassonne are a short 15 minute drive.
However it's not just the books, wine and restaurants that attract visitors to Montolieu, there are also the Castles of the Cathars situated nearby, the city of Carcassonne is an amazing site to visit, the Mediterranean and its beaches are less than an hour away, Spain and Andorra also beckon and are only a couple of hours by car.
The location makes "Les Libellules de Montolieu" the perfect base for your visits to the restaurants and vineyards of the largest wine growing area of France and for house hunting in one of the most picturesque settings in the Languedoc. |
