Plenty to see and do in the surrounding area and in northern Spain. Beautiful market town at Ceret, has a art gallery with paintigs by Picasso, Matiisse etc. Collioure, the gem on the coastline, is just 30 minutes away. Golf course and Aquapark at St Cyprien, 20 minutes away. Outdoor pool and tennis courts in Thuir. Visit the walled cities of Carcasonne and Prats de Mollo.

You will have a wonderful holiday in this lovely house. It is a comfortable home from home, lovingly furnished and equipped. The house was originally a “grange”; a barn built over a hundred years ago and converted into a spacious dwelling. It is situated in the Catalan wine producing village of Fourques, just a 10 minute drive from the thriving market town of Thuir. The house is furnished to a high standard throughout.

Downstairs there is a large kitchen that has plenty of storage space for groceries and wine.
The kitchen leads onto the large living room. In the living room there is a comfortable sitting area next to the wood burning fire. The dining area has a large table and benches that seats 8.
From the living room an open stair case leads to the bedrooms and French windows provide access to the outside area.

On the first floor there is a double en suite bedroom with French windows. A beautiful light and airy room.

Also on the first floor is a twin bedded room and a third smaller bedroom with a single bed that is accessed from the twin room. There is a second shower/toilet room. All bedrooms have wardrobes, drawers and bedside cupboards. The third bedroom also has a cot.
There is a further flight of stairs up to the mezzanine. On the mezzanine there is a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside cupboard.

There are electric convector heaters throughout the house including the two shower rooms. We have installed a wood burning fire in the living room. This heats not only the living room but the hot air travels up through the flue and heats the bathrooms and the mezzanine. We have visited the house several times in the winter months and the fire creates a warm and cosy room for relaxing evenings. There are ceiling fans in the 2 main bedrooms and the living room to keep you cool in the summer.
Outside there is a walled area with outside lighting. There is plenty of room for sitting and eating outside. There is a table, chairs and parasol. There is a built in barbeque.
The village of Fourques has a bakers, butchers, two grocers, newsagents, pharmacy and hairdressers.
