La Magnanerie, originally a 17th century silkworm farm, is situated in Moules et Baucels, a small hamlet 3 kms from Ganges, in the Herault Region of South West France in the Cevennes. By car it takes 45 minutes to Montpellier and 1 hour to Nimes. The property is set in 10,000 m? of land and comprises two houses, flowered and lawned terraces, a highly productive organic vegetable garden; olive, fig, quince, cherry and pomegranate trees; a swimming pool, and a tennis court. The owner lives in one of the two houses on the property, she will ensure that your privacy is respected at all times but is on hand for advice and assistance if required. The pool, grounds and tennis and pool are entirely at your disposition.
Accommodation: This beautiful traditional house is constructed in stone with a wealth of original features including wooden beamed ceilings and whitewashed walls. It is beautifully presented, decorated with many antique pieces of furniture. The house is on three floors with stunning views across the gardens to the hills beyond from all rooms. Entry is into the open plan living area which has kitchen, dining and sitting areas. The comfortably sized country fitted kitchen is well equipped including a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, gas hob and oven.
An open tread staircase leads to the second floor where you will find two double bedded rooms both with Queen sized (1.6m) beds. A spacious bathroom with WC, bath with hand-shower, wash hand-basin and wall hung hair drier. The Master bedroom is particularly spacious with a library of books for your stay.
The lower ground floor has a further two bedrooms one with bunk beds and the other with a double bed, both bedrooms have large French windows opening into the garden. There is a second bathroom with bath, walk in shower and hand-basin also
A separate WC. A laundry room contains a front loading washing machine and tumble drier is also at this level.
The saltwater pool is cared for at your convenience. Garden furniture includes sun-loungers and mattresses around the pool also table and chairs in the garden for ?al Fresco? meals. Tennis rackets provided but please bring your own tennis balls.
