Walking and hiking holidays in Languedoc, south France |
Languedoc is a walker's paradise. Superb weather, gorgeous countryside and great food and wine make it an absolute pleasure to walk across. So if you're keen to find a great walking or hiking holiday in Languedoc, you're in luck. Three mountain ranges span the region, the Pyrénées, the Cévennes and the Black Mountains. All offer spectacular views, often of the Mediterranean. And the lower hills, covered in vines, also offer lots of great walking opportunities.
You'll also enjoy 300 days of sunshine, and the region's wildlife includes vultures, golden eagles, wild boar and a wide variety of fish.
Of course, you can walk the region by yourself. But a guided walking holiday gives you access to inside knowledge about the best walks in any particular area, and your guides can also make sure you end up in the best local restaurants and wine-tasting domains.
