Fat Cats to Country Bumpkins...
Having done the city thing, working in advertising in London's West End for a number of years, we both came to the conclusion that there must be more to life.
I am sure a lot of you know where we are coming from - well paid job, nice house, a large mortgage to pay for the house that is in a reasonable commuting distance from said job, trapped in said job to pay for said mortgage, trapped in said house because you can't afford to move and certainly don't want to spend any longer on the morning commute than necessary... and so the rat race wheel spins!
Well, it did until we took back control of our lives and jumped.
So the long and the short of it is - we moved to France. We sold up and shipped out without so much as a backward glance with a plan to set-up a web-design business.
We soon found ourselves in Languedoc visiting my parents who had recently moved there. At a party we met a neighbour who opened our eyes to the possibilities of property speculation in the region. In a very short space of time we were the somewhat nervous owners of three ruins!
Now, four years later we have completed the renovation projects and the web design business is well established. Not without a few hair-raising experiences along the way - but the past four years have been exhilarating. We both feel alive again.
For our next project it made sense to pull on the experiences and lessons learned. A property web-site focused on Languedoc. And so in January '06 Creme de Languedoc was born.
We hope you find the site useful and interesting. However, this is really your site and with your continued support and involvement, we hope it will flourish.
Please do not hesitate to get in touch if there is anything that we have missed, mis-spelt or that just annoys you. We value your feedback and will act upon it.
